Strata

Strata is a decorative saggar-fired ceramic vessel by Juliana Hattu-Dorpmans. Its flattened, tapering body rises to a narrow, slightly asymmetric oval opening, framed by several rounded bands around the neck.

The matte surface combines pale cream, soft pink, terracotta and smoke-grey tones with linear incisions, irregular marks and areas of coarse texture. Each side reveals a different distribution of colour and markings.
