Adult handbuilding classes
Oktana is a working ceramics studio, not a showroom. In a four-hour session, you work directly with clay, learn how to build a form by hand and have time to develop your own piece. You do not need previous experience.
What happens in class
We explore handbuilding techniques: forming and supporting a shape, joining sections properly and paying attention to surfaces and details. There is guidance when you need it, with room to make your own decisions. Everyone does not have to make the same object.
This is not a pottery-wheel class. The work is made by hand, using clay and studio tools.

What happens to my piece?
Ceramic work needs time to dry and be fired after the class. Your piece is not ready to take away straight from the worktable. We explain the process, the costs involved and collection arrangements at the studio.
Before you arrive
Come ready to spend some time with the material. You can arrive with an idea or start from the clay itself; both are welcome. For availability, changes and booking conditions, follow the information shown when you make your reservation.
