Terms & Conditions

These terms apply to purchases and use of oktanapottery.com.

Oktana Pottery is a working ceramic studio and contemporary ceramic house based in Rhodes, Greece.

About these terms

By placing an order through this website, you enter into a contract with the business identified above.

Nothing in these terms limits rights that consumers have under applicable Greek or European consumer law.

Ceramic works

Unless stated otherwise, ceramic works offered through Oktana are individual physical objects.

Handmade differences, firing marks, glaze variation and irregularities that are visible in the photographs or accurately described are part of the individual work and are not, by themselves, defects.

This does not excuse damage, undisclosed defects or lack of conformity.

Where a work is described as one-off, only the photographed work is offered for sale unless the listing expressly states otherwise.

Product information

We make reasonable efforts to present dimensions, materials, colour and surface accurately.

Screen colour may vary slightly between devices. Measurements of handmade objects may contain small practical measurement tolerances.

This does not justify a materially inaccurate listing.

Prices

Prices are shown in euros.

The price and any mandatory charges payable to Oktana are shown before the order is placed.

Shipping charges, where applicable, are shown before checkout is completed.

For destinations outside the European Union, local import duties, taxes or clearance charges may be imposed separately by the destination country or carrier.

Orders

Submitting an order does not permit Oktana to sell the same one-off work twice. For one-off inventory, quantity is normally one.

Orders are placed through the checkout on this website. You receive an order confirmation by email when the order is recorded.

Payment

Payment methods currently available:

  • Stripe — card and related methods offered at checkout
  • Viva.com Smart Checkout

Payment processing is performed by these independent payment providers. Oktana does not store full card numbers.

Delivery

Delivery destinations, methods and charges are described on the Shipping page.

Returns and withdrawal

Change-of-mind returns, transport damage and statutory remedies are explained on the Returns & Withdrawal page.

Being handmade or one-off does not by itself remove a consumer's statutory right of withdrawal for an ordinary ready-made online purchase.

You may use the online withdrawal function at Withdraw from an online order.

Faulty or non-conforming goods

Consumer statutory rights remain unaffected.

For an individual ceramic work, an identical replacement may be impossible. Where that happens, Oktana will provide the remedy required by applicable law, which may include repair where appropriate, price reduction, replacement where possible, or refund.

Workshops and classes

Terms for studio classes and workshops are set out in the Classes & Workshop Booking Terms.

Marketplace bookings made through GetYourGuide or another third-party marketplace may additionally be subject to that platform's booking and cancellation terms.

Accounts

Customers are responsible for keeping their login credentials private.

An account does not transfer ownership of artworks or intellectual-property rights.

Intellectual property

Purchase of a physical ceramic work transfers ownership of the physical object only.

Copyright and reproduction rights in photographs, texts, artwork designs and other protected material remain with their respective rights holders unless expressly transferred in writing.

Website availability

We do not promise uninterrupted operation of the website.

Genuine pricing or content errors will be corrected transparently. These terms do not create an unlimited right for Oktana to cancel valid consumer contracts arbitrarily.

Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by applicable law.

Governing law and consumer rights

Oktana is established in Greece.

Greek law applies without depriving consumers in the European Union of mandatory protections available to them under applicable law.

Complaints and dispute resolution

Customers should first contact Oktana directly. See Contact.

Where applicable, consumers may also seek assistance from an appropriate recognised alternative dispute-resolution body, including the Greek Consumer Ombudsman where it has jurisdiction.

Changes

These terms may be updated prospectively. The terms applicable to an order are those applicable when that order was placed, subject to mandatory law.
