Description
Umbra Basin is a vessel defined by depth rather than height.
Its wide diameter and low walls create a horizontal form that feels settled, almost geological. The interior reveals clear wheel marks, spiraling toward the center — traces of motion frozen in clay. These marks are not hidden or softened. They remain as evidence of making.
The glaze moves between blue-grey and dark earthen tones, pooling toward the center and thinning subtly at the rim. Light reacts differently depending on angle, creating areas of shadow and reflection — an effect that gives the piece its name.
While fully functional as a serving or fruit basin, Umbra Basin holds its strongest presence when left empty. It invites stillness, attention, and slow observation.
This piece is entirely unique.
Once sold, it cannot be replicated.
